Dr. Ashis Kumar Das has been working in social development sector for last two decades. He is Doctorate in Social Science and has twenty years of experience in technical participatory training support on social issues. He completed M.Sc in Social Anthropology in 2000, and carried out research work on tribal societies for ten years. He was attached as Research Fellow in Anthropological Survey of India and has published number of research papers in edited books and journals. His thesis has been published in 2012.
From 2003 he started participatory training with marginalized communities and vulnerable populations on social developmental issues. He worked with number of regional, national and international civil society organizations of different states of India and almost covered all the districts of West Bengal to reach out the different hard to reach communities. He has wide range of experience on conduct training with tribal people, marginalized children, youth, villagers, slum dwellers, mothers of redlight areas, parents of disabled children, community, government officials and NGO workers on different social issues. Dr. Das has worked with more than thousand training groups for strengthening the capacity of people working with NGOs, Govt. Projects and CBOs and assisting different organizations in assessing, planning and facilitating training programmes.
